DellRefurbished.com is the largest source of refurbished, previously leased Dell computers and accessories.

About Our Products


What does "refurbished" mean?

Refurbished systems are tested to ensure quality workmanship standards remain excellent. Refurbished products are visually and diagnostically inspected to ensure these items function. Refurbished systems may have some observable cosmetic imperfections, but they will not affect the performance.

What is the difference between Grade A and Grade B products?

Grading criteria is based solely on cosmetic condition. Both grades feature the same functionality and performance, including the same warranty and customer service support. Products classified as Grade B may have minor cosmetic blemishes that include scratches and/or other surface imperfections. They may also have a lower list price than Grade A products.

What is a Laptop Skin?

A laptop skin is a durable vinyl adhesive that is applied to the top cover of the laptop. Our professionally applied skins hide top cover cosmetic blemishes while providing a sleek, like-new look.  If the skin is removed or otherwise separates from your product, the cosmetic blemishes will be visible.

What does "No O/S" or "No operating system" mean?

The operating system is the basic software that is necessary for your computer to function and to run programs that are installed. Units that do not include an Operating System will require one before use for basic functionality.  Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, DVD decoder software, and commercial applications, like Microsoft Office, are not typically included with the Operating System.

Can I customize or upgrade a system that I am interested in buying?

No, each system offered for sale is prepackaged and ready for shipment. We are not able to open the packaging to change systems configurations.

What disks or CDs come with systems from DFS?

No disks are included. Units sold with an Operating System will have a recovery partition on the hard drive.

Do manuals come with the computer?

No. Manuals do not come in the box. Manuals can be found on Dell's support site.

What are “Dell Clearance" items?

Our Clearance section is a curated list of units comprising of heavily discounted items. These are typically systems with unique configurations, non-Dell products and products without operating systems that we feel provide exceptional value.  Avoid missing out on the best deals by checking back often because our deals change frequently. Coupons are not valid on Clearance items.  Individual items chosen as "Clearance Deals" are at DFS' sole discretion and limited to stock on hand. Rain checks are not available. Clearance Deals are typically updated weekly.

Does my system come with wireless capability?

Check the system listing for details.

"YES" indicates that a wireless card is installed. Wireless details can be found on the configuration detail tab of each product listing.

"NO" indicates that a wireless card IS NOT installed, however the ports are available to allow you to add wireless hardware.

Does an AC adapter come with my laptop purchase?

Yes. An AC adapter ships with each laptop.

What is included in my Desktop purchase?

A mouse and keyboard are included with every Desktop purchase.

How often does DFS add product to the website?

New inventory is added as it becomes available, typically up to several times each week.

Does DFS Export?

No. DFS does not ship items outside of the United States, or to freight forwarders for export purposes.


Taxes and Fees


Do you accept Tax Exemptions?

No, we do not accept tax exemptions on our DellRefurbished.com website.

Why is tax charged and how much tax will be assessed to my purchase?

Dell Financial Services, LLC is required to collect and remit applicable sales tax based on the ship-to address on your order. The applicable taxes will be shown to you prior to completing your purchase.

Why is my order being charged an Environmental Fee?

Under California law, Dell Financial Services, LLC is required to charge a fee for orders that are shipped to California addresses. This fee is based on certain electronic products as identified by the Department of Toxic Substances (DTSC) as Covered Electronic Devices (CEDs).


Order Processing


Why haven’t I received an email concerning my order?

We batch process orders. Orders are typically processed every morning and afternoon pending verification. It could be a day or two before you get a confirmation email regarding your order. In the event we need to contact you, please remove any SPAM blocker as this may delay your order.

How long will it be before I receive my order?

Once we receive your order, it typically takes 1-3 business days to process through to shipment. Please make sure billing and shipping information is accurate and matches your credit card to avoid delays in releasing your order. From time to time, we may need to contact you for additional information if discrepancies are identified.

A shipping estimate is provided during your order checkout, and you will receive a tracking email once your order has shipped.




Can I cancel my order once it has been placed?

No, orders move quickly into processing and typically cannot be canceled once they are placed. If you need to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible to check if your order can still be canceled. Unfortunately, cancellations are not guaranteed.

Can I ship an Enterprise product to my home address?

No, Enterprise products are intended for use in a business/commercial environment only and must ship to a business address. Residential use is prohibited.

Is a signature required on the delivery of my order?

Yes, a customer signature is required for all deliveries.

Where can I ship?

DFS only ships to addresses in the contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and the District of Columbia.

Are there prohibited shipping addresses?

DFS does not ship to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, Mailbox or Packaging stores, Hotels, temporary addresses, Internationally, or to any addresses that cannot be verified for the customer or is deemed prohibited by DFS.

Is there an option for same day shipping?

Currently DFS does not offer same day shipping.

Can I change the shipping method on my order after it is placed?

No, for DFS to process orders efficiently we are unable to make changes to orders once they have been submitted.

What happens if the shipping address is incorrect, or I refuse delivery?

If you provide an incorrect/incomplete shipping address or refuse delivery of your order, the package will come back to DFS, the item(s) will be processed back into our inventory, and a restocking fee of 15% will be assessed. You will receive a credit of the purchase price (excluding shipping and handling charges and the 15% restocking fee) to the credit card account used to purchase the products.

No “order holds” or redirects are allowed by DFS or the Carrier.

Once your order is picked up by the carrier a shipping confirmation email will be sent to the email address associated with your order. Orders ship from Lebanon, TN.




What is the Dell Financial Services (DFS) authorization charge that I see appearing on my credit card?

For your protection, we perform a pre-authorization upon entry of the credit card information into our system. This is a pre-authorization only, not a charge, to verify the authenticity of the card number and expiration date, regardless of the address or card verification value check (CVV). This pre-authorization is typically removed from your account, by your bank, within a few business days. Final credit card verification is performed immediately after the approved pre-authorization

Do these systems have a warranty?

Can the warranty be extended?

You can purchase a 1-year Extended Warranty for most products at the time of purchase. Please note that the Extended Warranty cannot be added after the order is placed and must be purchased for each qualifying item on the order.

What is the return policy?

You may return product purchases within 30 days from the date of the invoice to obtain credit for the purchase price (excluding shipping and handling charges). Please note a restocking fee of 15% of the purchase prices may be charged unless the product is defective (as reasonably determined by DFS at DFS's sole discretion) or the return is a direct result of a DFS error.
